By using Love Written, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

When you use Love Written, we collect the following information:
Information you provide directly:
- Sender name — the name you enter as the letter writer
- Recipient name — the name of the person receiving your letter
- Recipient email address — used to deliver your letter at the scheduled time
- Letter content — the message you write
- Delivery preferences — your chosen date, time, and timezone for delivery
Payment information:
Payment is processed securely by **Stripe**. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full payment details on our servers. Stripe handles all payment data in accordance with PCI-DSS standards. For details, see Stripe's Privacy Policy.
Information collected automatically:
We use Datafast for basic analytics to understand how visitors use our site. This may include pages visited, time on site, referral source, and general device/browser information.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Deliver your letter to the recipient at your scheduled date and time
- Process your payment
- Send you a confirmation of your scheduled letter
- Improve our service through anonymized usage analytics
- Respond to your inquiries if you contact us
We do not use your letter content, personal information, or recipient information for marketing, advertising, or any purpose other than delivering the service you requested.
3. How We Store Your Information
- Letter data (sender name, recipient name, recipient email, letter content, and delivery details) is stored in Google Firebase Firestore, hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure.
- Payment data is stored and processed by Stripe. We only retain a transaction reference and payment status — not your full payment details.
- Your data is retained indefinitely unless you request its deletion (see Section 6).
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

Love Written uses minimal cookies:
- Essential cookies — required for the site to function (e.g., session management during the letter-writing flow)
- Analytics cookies — used by Datafast to collect anonymized usage data
We do not use advertising cookies or tracking cookies from third-party ad networks.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your data, including any letters you have created (whether delivered or still scheduled)
- Withdraw consent at any time

Note for Canadian residents: This policy is designed to comply with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). You have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you believe your privacy rights have been violated.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information, including:
- All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS
- Payment processing is handled by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified
- Database access is restricted and secured through Firebase security rules
- We do not store passwords, as no account creation is required
However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Recipients of Letters
When you use Love Written, you provide a recipient's name and email address. By submitting this information, you confirm that:
- You have the right to share the recipient's email address with us for the purpose of delivering your letter
- The recipient has not opted out of receiving communications from you
- Your letter does not contain harmful, abusive, threatening, or illegal content
Recipients who receive a letter can contact us at lovewritten1@gmail.com to request that their email address be removed from our system and to opt out of receiving future letters.
9. Children's Privacy
Love Written is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of Love Written after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
